How Shapewear Has Evolved HomeThis is a featured page

For centuries, women have done just about everything they could to look better. During the 17th century, corsets were already used. During the 18th century, women wore very tight corsets to make their waists very small, along with a large bust and large hips.

In the early stages of the 1900s the girdle was developed and helped a lot of women shrink their abdomen and shape their thighs.

Girdles nowadays usually consist of one material alone or a mix of Lycra, Spandex, and Powernet. Girdles produced from one or more of these materials are incredibly easy to wear. They are also very durable and durable. These girdles are incredibly light and they do an outstanding job of shaping and smoothing women's bodies all across the globe.

Girdle manufacturing technology has advanced greatly and today they come in a number of different types, which can be light compression, medium compression, strong compression and in many cases dual compression. All these offer various compression levels to provide the desired body control.

With the development associated with Spandex in the late 90s, shapewear has grown to be extremely popular. The subsequent introduction of fabrics such as Powernet, Lycra, Spandex and nylon helped to boost its level of popularity even further.

The Powernet fabric is designed to deliver a well well balanced temperature control. It is usually designed to the extent that perspiration is absorbed from the skin and also transferred to the garment's outer surface and back into the natural environment. Powernet is more permeable than other fabrics and enables air to flow freely alongside the skin.
Also Powernet has anti microbial properties integrated within the fabric. Laboratory tests have demostrated that Powernet textiles are capable to continually and successfully fight microbial growing throughout their useful life.

Today's garments are very long lasting, their advanced fabric construction permits them to maintain elasticity and shape longer than in the past. Laboratory testshave shown why these fabrics are so resilient that they can withstand intensive washes and a huge number of flexes.

Each one of these events and advances in technology triggered a new and prosperous shapewear industry, with recognized manufacturers like Ann Chery, Diane & Geordi, Vedette among others.

The shapewear business continues to flourish as interest develops in their products. As special objective goods are developed, shapewear garments can be purchased to ensure breasts appear even bigger, thighs and legs look smaller and butts look far better molded.

Shapewear was made to tame the frame and work wonders for women of all shapes and sizes. When looking for shapewear, you may want to consider what type of shapewear you are shopping for. I have found that shapewear basically comes in two different types; compression based and hosiery based. Compression based shapewear will be made with latex, lycra and spandex. Samples of this type can be Flexees shapewear and Vedette shapewear, andthen needless to say, hosiery based shapewear will be manufactured from pantyhose type material which would include Spanx and Bodywrap type brands.

When looking for the best shapewear to determine, what do I want this shapewear to do for me? Do I want it to hold me in? If that is the case, then a compression type shapewear would be what you are looking for. If you are looking to smooth out your silhouette and something light, then you would go with a hosiery based shapewear for those little imperfections like cellulite on the buttock area or thighs. Got muffin top? Conquer the battle of the bulge with a high-waist compression model.
